A metropolitan cluster has the added specificity of a geographical concentration of the economic operations of the companies, firms and industries engaged in optimally boosting their competitiveness and extending their reach.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A logistics and transportation (L&amp;T) cluster is specialized and reflects the tendency of firms operating in the same, or closely related, industries and using the same technologies to be located in the same geographical area. These firms perform different functions but are linked by the concentration of their production, distribution, transportation and outreach networks.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2>Cluster advantages :<\/h2>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Attraction of related activities;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Stimulation of innovation and R&amp;D;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Deepening of the local labour market;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Economic diversification;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Enhanced physical infrastructures;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Broader outreach of cluster activities on national and international levels.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Logistics and Transportation Metropolitan Cluster of Montreal, CargoM, fits into this definition and intends to deliver all the advantages a cluster makes possible for the benefit of Greater Montreal.
