ISS-IL

ISS-IL (Information Sharing System – Intermodal Logistics) is a tool for better planning the number of containers to be dropped off and picked up at the terminals at the Port of Montreal. It is a computerized program that is only accessible to companies authorized to go to the terminals at the Port of Montreal. By 4:30 PM, participating trucking companies must upload the data on the number of containers to be dropped off and picked up the next day. At 5:00 PM, the system compiles and aggregates the data and then emails it to the partners (port, terminals, trucking companies). This information provides an overview of the trucking activities that will take place on the infrastructures of the Port and the terminals the following day. This is the first step toward implementing a pre-approved route that will improve the fluidity of movements at and around the Port by eliminating paperwork procedures.
